Bailey Bites?

Hi all, I’d like you to meet Bailey, the newest member of our family.

We found Bailey while driving around our neighborhood over Memorial Day weekend. The plan was to keep her for the long weekend and either locate her owner or turn her into a no-kill shelter. But as these things always turn out, we decided to keep the little girl.

Bailey was very shy and timid when we found her, but she has slowly opened up to us and the rest of our animals. Well, she still barks at the chinchillas and chases the chickens. But she doesn’t seem to mind the fish.

It was difficult for Phoebe to have another animal in the house at first. I am sure you all know how spoiled Phoebe is, I mean, I only named my blog after her. But the two have become friends over the last week, rough-housing, sharing their food and sleeping on the same (our) bed.

The vet thinks Bailey is a cocker spaniel and terrier mix that’s about 1-year-old. Her previous owner didn’t take care of her well. She’s doesn’t know how to sit or fetch. She is a few pounds underweight, but that will change. We usually have the opposite problem around here.

It’s been really great to have another animal in the house. It’s really an ego boost to have two creatures who love you unconditionally. I just need to get used to walking and petting two dogs at once.

We are leaving for our big trip to London and Paris next week. But I have a delicious cinnamon sugar palmier recipe for you before we leave. Stay tuned!
